ECONOMYNEXT – Power cuts of three hours of will be imposed around Sri Lanka on August 27 and August 28, 2022 Public Utilities Commission (PUCSL) Chairman Janaka Ratnayake said.
UPDATE: Sunday August 28 power cut reduced to one hour
All areas (A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V and W) will have power cuts of 1 hours between 6.00pm and 9.30pm under the revised data schedule for August 28.

The PUCSL had previously attempted to curtail power cut durations and provide uninterrupted power supply on holidays, but a sudden breakdown in the Norochcholai power plant extended durations again.
The state-run Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) said supply interruption time and restoration time will vary within 30 minutes as indicated above. (Colombo/ Aug 26/2022 – Updated)
