ECONOMYNEXT- Sri Lanka’s debt office said it sold three year bonds at a weighted average yield rate of 9.39 percent and ten year bonds at 9.99 percent on Monday, easing from previous auctions.
The 01.09.2023 bond with a coupon rate of 9 percent was auctioned higher than the closely maturing bond 15.07.2023 which had closed at 9.25/30 percent on Thursday and was trading at 9.20/25 percent ahead of the auction on Monday.
A three year bond was last auctioned in October, at 9.65 percent.
Meanwhile, the 15.05.2030 bond with a coupon rate of 11 percent was sold marginally lower than the 10.00/15 percent it was trading at in the market.
At an auction on December 16, a similar 10-year bond was sold at 10.23 percent.
The 01.09.2023 bond received 57.39 billion rupees in bids, and the 15.05.2030 bond received 58.30 billion rupees in bids.
The government debt office sold 15 billion rupees of each bond, as announced before the auction.
The auction will be settled on January 16. (Colombo/Jan13/2019)
