Sri Lanka sells Rs30bn in bonds; bids rejected, yields up
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka sold 30.5 billion rupees of 8 and 10 year bonds, less than the 40 billion rupees offered, rejecting bids for 4 and 15 year securities, the state debt office said as yields edged higher.
The debt office sold 10.29 billion rupees of 8-year bonds maturing on 01.09.2023 to yield 9.76 percent, higher than the 9.58 average yield on July 24.
The bond was quoted at 9.75/85 percent after the auction.
The debt office also sold 20.2 billion rupees of 10-year bond maturing on 01.08.2025 to yield 9.90/10.00 percent.
The bond was last auctioned at 9.67 percent on August 11.
Ten year bonds were quoted at 9.90/10.00 percent up from 9.70/80 percent. (Colombo/Aug25/2015 – corrected 8-year maturity date is 01.09.2023)
