Ceylon Fertilizer Company (Lak Pohora) and Colombo Commercial Fertilizer Company Ltd (Commercial Fertilizer) had called international bids and the cabinet of ministers had approved the deals after competitive tenders.
Midgulf International Limited had won a deal for 60,000 metric tonnes of granular fertilizer at 241.9 dollars per metric tonne.
Swiss Singapore Overseas Enterprises had won a deal for 15,000 metric tonnes of triple super phosphate for 239 dollars per metric tonne.
