Sri Lanka stock market opening time to be announced
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s stock market will not open at the regular time Monday April 22, due to curfew being declared overnight, the Securities and Exchange Commission said.
"The SEC in consultation with the CSE will perform an ongoing assessment of the conditions necessary for an orderly conduct of the market, and will issue further communications as appropriate," the regulator said in a statement.
"A further communication will follow, with regard to the resumption of trading."
Stock trading usually begins at 9.30 am.
Sri Lanka’s government declared an indefinite curfew on the afternoon of April 21 after a series of explosion in Colombo and elsewhere that killed over 200 persons, saying it will be lifted after a security assessment.
