Sri Lanka stocks close 0.53-pct higher
ECONOMYNEXT- Sri Lanka stocks closed 0.53 percent higher on Tuesday with the main index pushed up by gains in John Keells Holdings, LOLC Holdings, and Browns Investments, provisional data showed.
Colombo’s All Share Price Index (ASPI) gained 29.98 points to 5,738.90 and the S&P SL20 Index of more liquid stocks was up 0.46 percent or 12.90 points to 2,791.12.
The market turnover was 300 million rupees with 88 stocks gaining and 40 falling.
John Keells Holdings gained 1.90 rupees to 153.90 rupees a share contributing most to the gain of the ASPI.
LOLC Holdings was up 2.70 rupees at 123.20 rupees a share and Browns Investments gained 20 cents to 4.20 rupees a share contributing to the ASPI’s gain.
