Sri Lanka stocks close 1.23-pct higher
ECONOMYNEXT- Sri Lanka stocks closed 1.23 percent higher on Wednesday, provisional data showed.
Colombo’s All Share Price Index (ASPI)gained 70.69 points to 5,809.59 and the S&P SL20 Index of more liquid stocks rose 2.67percent or 74.65 points to 2,868.21.
The market turnover was 951 million rupees with 129 stocks gaining and 42 falling.
John Keells Holdings gained 2.80 rupees to 156.70 rupees a share contributing the most to the gain of the ASPI.
Hatton National Bank, up 8.90 rupeesat 167.80 rupees a share and Sampath Bank, up 7.90 rupeesto 165.10 rupees a share, also contributed to pushing up the ASPI.
