Sri Lanka stocks close 1.7-pct higher with JKH, Cold Stores
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s stocks closed up 1.7 percent with gains in index heavy John Keells Holdings and Cold Stores Monday, provisional market data showed as a new president was sworn in.
ASPI gained 106.54 points to 6,129.54 and the S&P SL20 index of more liquid stocks was up 1.99 percent or 59.62 points to 3,046.04.
The market turnover was 2.4 billion rupees, up from with 152 stocks gaining and 30 falling.
John Keells Holdings closed up 5.80 rupees at 164.00 rupees a share, Colombo Cold Stores was up 35.00 rupees to 815.00 rupees a share.
Distilleries Company of Sri Lanka gained 70 cents to 18.70 rupees a share, contributing to ASPI’s gain. (Colombo/Nov18/2019)
