Sri Lanka stocks close higher
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka stocks end 0.73 per cent higher on Monday, pushed by ExpoLanka PLC, Colombo Stock Exchange data showed.
Colombo’s main, All Share Price Index (ASPI) gained 42.33 points to close at 5,841.05.
S&P SL20 index of most liquid stocks, however, fell 0.59 per cent or 13.79 points to close at 2,334.71.
The market turnover was 3.8 billion rupees with 135 stocks gaining and 64 making losses.
Expolanka stocks contributed most to ASPI’s gaining, trading 2.10 rupees up at 16.70 rupees a share.
Other stocks which contributed to ASPI’s gain were Carson Cumberbatch trading 9.70 rupees higher at 289.70 rupees a share while R I L Property, gaining 2.10 rupees to trade at 9.30 rupees a share.
