Sri Lanka stocks close marginally weaker

ECONOMYNEXT- Sri Lanka stocks closed marginally weaker Thursday, provisional data showed.

The Colombo All Share Price Index (ASPI) closed 0.26 points lower at 6,138.33.

The S&P SL20 Index of more liquid stocks closed 0.37 percent or 11.11 points down at 3,025.05.

Market turnover was 1.2 billion rupees, down from the previous day’s turnover of 2 billion rupees with,85 stocks gaining and 72 declining.

Singer Plc closed 3.30 rupees higher at 31.20 rupees a share, while Hayleys Plc gained 10 rupees to 180 rupees per share.

Cargills Plc (down 6.50 rupees to 188.50 rupees), Melstacorp (down 1 rupee to 45.00 rupees), LOLC Holdings (down 2.20 to 117.60 rupees) and Distilleries (down 20 cents to 19.60 rupees) weighed down the benchmark index.(Colombo/ November 21/ 2019)
