Sri Lanka stocks down 0.2-pct
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka stocks fell 0.23 percent on Monday with dragged down by Commercial Bank of Ceylon, LOLC Holdings and Asiri Hospital Holdings,Colombo Stock Exchange provisional data showed.
Colombo’s All Share Price Index closed down 13.01 points at 5,713.58 losing initial gains.
The S&P SL20 index of more liquid stocks fell 0.68 percent or 15.56 points to 2,266.64.
The market turnover was 1.25 billion rupees with 74 stocks gaining and 88 falling.
Commercial Bank of Ceyloncontributed most to ASPI’s fall, falling 1.30 rupees a share to trade at 73.00 rupees.
LOLC Holdings fell 3 rupees to trade at 120.00 rupees a share and Asiri Hospital Holdingsfell 70 cents to trade at 22.10 rupees a share also contributing to the ASPI fall.
Hatton National bank fell1.50 to trade at 112.60 rupees, Tokyo Cement Company fell 1.80 rupees to trade at 61.00 rupees a share, Sampath Bank fell 1.50 rupees to trade at 120.10 rupees, Hayleys Plc fell 4.80 rupees to trade at 308.90 rupees a share.
Singer Plc fell 1.40 rupees to trade at 40.50 rupees, Lanka tiles closed flat at 87.00rupees a share.
However, Expolanka Holdings gained 80 cents to trade at 18.90 rupees a share, Dialog Axiata gained 10 cents to trade at 10.90 rupees a share and Watawala Plantation gained 2.70 rupees to trade at 42.30 rupees a share seizing the ASPI fall.
The Materials Industry index, which was the most active, fell. 0.6 percent.(Colombo/October 23/2020)
