ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka stocks closed 0.22 percent higher on Tuesday pushed by gains in Commercial Bank of Ceylon, provisional data showed.
Colombo’s All Share Price Index gained 13.20 points to 6,142.76 and the S&P SL20 Index of more liquid stocks closed up 0.56 percent or 16.98 points to 3,063.02.
The market turnover was 1.4 billion rupees with 89 stocks gaining and 80 falling.
Commercial Bank of Ceylon gained 1.70 rupees to 103.50 rupees a share.
Central Finance Company was up 5.90 rupees to 101.90 rupees a share and Hemas Holdings gained 2.00 rupees to 85.00 rupees a share at the market close.
