Sri Lanka stocks end 0.99-pct higher, buying interest on JKH

ECONOMYNEXT- Sri Lanka’s Colombo Stock Exchange closed 0.99-pct higher with buying interest in index-heavy stocks, provisional data showed.

The All Share Price Index (ASPI) closed 55.28 points higher at 5,652.65.

The more liquid S&P SL20 Index closed 23.79 points higher at 2,761.36.
Market turnover was 563.6 million rupees, with 103 stocks gaining and 40 stocks falling.
The Distilleries Company of Sri Lanka share closed 70 cents higher at 15.20 rupees higher and Lion Brewery Ceylon closed 31.40 rupees higher at 584.40 rupees, contributing to the ASPI gain.
Dialog Axiata closed 30 cents higher at 9.60 per share, also pushing up the ASPI.
Index-heavy John Keells Holdings generated 38.4 percent of the turnover, closing 50 cents higher at 155 rupees per share.
John Keells Holdings, Access Engineering, Sampath Bank, Commercial Bank, and Hayleys contributed 60 percent to market turnover. (Colombo/Apr04/2019-SB)
