Sri Lanka stocks end lower
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka stocks fell 0.20 per cent on Tuesday pushed down by LOLC Holdings, Carson Cumberbatch and Sri Lanka Telecom, Colombo Stock Exchange provisional data showed.
Colombo’s main, All Share Price Index fell 11.85 points to close at 5,934.23.
S&P SL20 index of most liquid stocks gained 0.31 per cent or 7.30 points to end at 2,390.02.
The market turnover was 107 million rupees with 68 stocks gaining and 116 making losses.
LOLC Holdings PLC contributed most to ASPI’s fall trading 2.40 rupees down at 129.60 rupees a share.
Other stocks which contributed to ASPI’s fall were Carson Cumberbatch falling 4.60 rupees to trade at 271.80 rupees a share, Sri Lanka Telecom stocks fell 50 cents to trade at 31.20 rupees a share while Commercial Bank of Ceylon stocks fell 70 cents to trade at 76.70 rupees a share.
A negotiated trade (crossing) was seen in John Keells holdings at 135.6 rupees a share and the stock closed at 136.00 rupees a share.
The Capital Goods Industry group index, which was the most active, fell 0.07 percent.
The Food, Beverage and Tobacco Industry group index which was also active grew 0.70 percent today. (Colombo/October 20/2020)
