Sri Lanka stocks fall on Ceylon Tobacco Company
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka stocks end 0.16 percent lower on Thursday, dragged down by Ceylon Tobacco Company, provisional data showed.
Colombo’s All Share Price Index fell 9.35 points to 5,980.07 and the S&P SL20 of more liquid stocks fell 0.10 percent or 2.88 points to 2,964.54.
The market turnover was 635.4 million rupees with 48 stocks gaining and 79 falling.
A crossing in CT Holdings contributed 34.4 million rupees to the market turnover.
Net foreign sales was 5.8 million rupees, against selling of 15.2 million at the previous day’s close.
Ceylon Tobacco Company fell 13.80 rupees to 1,106.20 rupees a share, Lion Brewery Ceylon fell 20.00 rupees to 600.00 rupees a share and Asiri Hospital Holdings down 1.20 rupees to 20.00 rupees a share, contributing to ASPI’s decline. (Colombo/Nov14/2019).
