Sri Lanka stocks open higher on banking and finance

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s stocks opened 0.46 percent higher on Tuesday with banking and finance stock pushing the market up.

 
In equities, Colombo’s All Share Price Index (ASPI) was up 27.05 points to 5,896.12.
 
The S&P SL20 index of more liquid stocks gained 0.76 percent or 21.34 points to 2,917.48 in the first hour of trade.
 
Market turnover was 89 million rupees with 46 stocks gaining and 19 falling.
 
LOLC Holdings opened 1.70 rupees up at 125.00 rupees a share, Sri Lanka Telecom opened 70 cents up at 30.00 rupees a share and Sampath Bank was up 2.90 rupees to 168.30 rupees a share, pushing ASPI up.
