Sri Lanka stocks open weaker

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lankan stocks opened weaker Friday with both indices down in the first hour of trading, brokers said.

Colombo’s All Share Price Index was down 21.56 points or 0.35 percent to 6,116.77 while the S&P SL20 Index of most liquid stocks was down 4.89 points or 0.16 percent to 3,023.46.

Market turnover was 288 million rupees with losses in Ceylon Tobacco Co., Distilleries Co. and Sampath Bank contributing the most to the fall of the benchmark ASPI index.
