ECONOMYNEXT- Sri Lanka stocks traded 0.28 percent up in the first hour into trading as Sri Lanka opened counting of votes on Thursday, provisional data showed.
Colombo’s main All Share Price Index advanced 14.56 points up at 5, 161.00 on Thursday.
The S&P SL20 index of more liquid stocks climbed 0.44 percent or 9.62 points to 2,219.29.
Market turnover for the day amounted to 65.9 million rupees with 68 stocks making gains and 37 declining.
Browns Investment stocks traded flat at 2.20 rupees a share, contributing most to the ASPI’s gain.
Asian Hotels and Properties shares traded 32.90 rupees a share, up by 2.50 rupees while Ceylinco Insurance PLC stocks traded 1,853.00 rupees a share, up by 53.00 rupees, also contributing to the ASPI’s gain.
