Sri Lanka Supreme Court extends parliament dissolution order
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s Supreme Court has extended a suspension of a contested dissolution of parliament till Saturday, giving more time for lawyers to argue the case.
A 7-judge bench is hearing several petitions challenging the dissolution of parliament, which they argue is against the constitutions.
On Thursday the respondents made their representations.
The counsel for Udaya Gammanpila said those opposition to the dissolution of parliament appears to be the work of foreign forces who want to make Sri Lanka a failed state.
