Sri Lanka swears in cabinet

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s President Maithripala Sirisena has sworn in a new cabinet in an uneasy cohabitation administration with Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe following a political and economic crisis triggered by his sacking in October.

President had sworn in 29 ministers with the Prime Minister also holding portfolios.

Gamini Jayawickreme – Buddhist Affairs, Wayamba Development

Lakshman Kiriella – State Enterprises, Kandy Development

Rauf Hakeem – Urban Planning, Water Supply and Higher Education

Tilak Marapone – Foreign

Rajitha Senaratne – Heath and Nutrition
