Sri Lanka T-bond yield, rupee guidance peg end steady

ECONOMYNEXT – Yields in Sri Lanka’s Treasury bond closed steady in dull trade on Wednesday (21) while a guidance peg for interbank transactions announced by the country’s central bank remained unchanged, dealers said.

A bond maturing on 01.06.2032 closed at 29.45/29.50 percent on Wednesday, hardly changed from Tuesday’s close of 29.40/60 percent.

Sri Lanka’s central bank’s guidance peg for interbank transactions on Wednesday was 362.90 rupees against the US dollar, steady from the previous close.

Data showed that commercial banks offered dollars for telegraphic transfers between 369.90 and 370.00 for small transactions.

Banks offered to buy inward remittances at 359.90 -360.00 rupees. (Colombo/Sep 21/2022)
