Sri Lanka to call contractors for Rs6bn flyover in Colombo
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka will call bids from domestic contractors shortly to build a flyer in the Slave Island area of the capital Colombo, Minister Udaya Gammanpila said.
“The roads near the Slave Island railway station is one of the most congested areas in Colombo during peak hours,” Minister Gammanpila told reporters.
“This flyover will ease the traffic.”
He said the cost of the flyover has been estimated at around 6 billion rupees.
The government will call bids from local contractors for the flyover, he said. (Colombo/Aug27/2020)
