Sri Lanka to impose Rs1 bn casino tax

EconomyNext – Sri Lanka will impose a one-time tax of one billion rupees on casino owners, Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake said.

The government expects to earn 5,000 million rupees in revenue from this tax this year, he told parliament while presenting the government’s interim budget. 

It will come into effect on April 15, 2015.
