Sri Lanka to sell Rs30bn in bonds
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka has called offers to sell 30 billion rupees of 5, 6 and 11 year bonds for Monday August 31, ahead of a bond settlement on September 01.
The debt office is offering 5.0 billion rupees of 5-year bonds maturing on 01.05.2020. The bond is quoted in the secondary market at 8.80/9.00 percent, dealers said.
It is offering 12.5 billion rupees of 6-year bonds maturing on 01.08.2021. Similar maturities are quoted in the market at 9.20/40 percent levels
The market is also offered 12.5 billion rupees of 11 year bonds maturing on 01.06.2026. Dealers say there are no quotes for the maturity.
The debt office sold 30 billion rupees at an auction yesterday after calling offers for 40 billion rupees, with yields edging up slightly.
On September 01, 79.5 billion rupees of bonds and around 15 billion rupees of coupons are due, dealers said. (Colombo/Aug26/2015)
