ECONOMYNEXT- Sri Lanka will set up a national policy and planning agency to transparently formulate economic policies, the cabinet office said.
“The national policy and planning agency will be set up to reach development targets transparently in line with the government’s vision,” a cabinet statement said.
The new agency will shape economic policies on government spending, formulate national development plans, engage in procurement and appraise and manage projects.
President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa had submitted the proposal which the cabinet approved. (Colombo/Dec19/2019)
