Sri Lanka’s Hayleys in talks with global investors in US
ECONOMYNEXT – A team of senior executives from Sri Lanka’s Hayleys group and its new subsidiary Singer Sri Lanka were in the United States last week meeting with global funds to discuss investment opportunities.
Decker & Co., the institutional equities broker handling the visit, said in a statement the meeting with investors followed Hayleys acquisition of Singer Sri Lanka in September 2017.
“Hayleys PLC’s success in following acquisitions with strong revenue growth in those businesses is clearly of strong interest to institutional investors,” said Mark Decker, founder and CEO of Decker & Co.
“In the meetings, global fund managers focused on how Hayleys’ diversity and Singer’s category expertise can create new business opportunities for both entities moving forward.”
Sarath Clement Ganegoda, Executive Director of Hayleys, and Asoka Pieris, chief executive of Singer Sri Lanka, were hosted in the U.S. by Decker & Co., which has offices in the U.S. and Asia.
The executives met with global investment funds in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco in the non-deal roadshow.
Singer Sri Lanka is Sri Lanka’s largest consumer durables retailer by revenues, with a distribution network of over 2,000 outlets. The company has a strong brand portfolio and includes manufacturing and consumer finance arms.
