COLOMBO (EconomyNext) – Sri Lankan shares ended slightly firmer in thin trade Monday, hovering at a two-month high, brokers said.
The All Share Price Index closed at 7,213.63, up 1.16 points (0.02%) while the S&P SL 20 index, which tracks the top 20 largest and most liquid stocks, ended at 4,061.04, up 2.42 points (0.06%).
Turnover was 587 million rupees.
The benchmark index was propped up mainly by gains in Distilleries Company, which rose three percent (8.20) to close at 274.30, and Ceylon Cold Stores which gained almost four percent (14.20) to close at 374.20.
Motor firm Dimo was the day’s top gainer, shooting up 12 percent or 75 rupees to 686 rupees.
