Sri Lankan stocks rise in early trade
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lankan stocks opened higher Friday with the benchmark All Share Price index pushed up by gains in Ceylon Tobacco Company, John Keells Holdings, Asian Hotels and Properties and Commercial Bank.
The ASPI was up 11.54 points or 0.2 percent to 5,971.88 in mid-morning trade while the more liquid S&P SL20 index was at 3,044.33, up 6.87 points or 0.23 percent.
Turnover was 232 million rupees with Asia Asset Finance and JKH the most actively traded stocks.
Asia Asset Finance was the third highest gainer, up 10 cent to 90 cents or 12.50 percent.
