Sri Lanka’s Asia Securities Holdings boosts investment banking unit
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s Asia Securities Holdings (Pvt) Ltd, said it had wrapped up a merger with YSP Advisors (Pvt) Ltd, a boutique investment banking firm, which has brought in international links and cross-border transaction skills.
Asia Securities Holdings (Pvt) Ltd, provides investment banking and wealth management services, and through Asia Securities Pvt Ltd equity brokerage and research.
YSP Advisors (Pvt) Ltd had a team led by Sujendra Mather and Sharini Kulasinghe, who the firm said has completed deals in Southeast Asia, South Asia, North America and Africa.
Asia Securities Chairman, Dumith Fernando said the merger will bring in new skills and relationships to strengthen its investment banking team.
The combined investment banking unit has recently advised on several deals including a 12.6 billion rupee sale of Singer (Sri Lanka) Plc to Hayleys Plc and a 5.7 billion rupee sale of Atlas Axillia Co. Ltd to Hemas Holdings Plc.
Cross border deals include the sale of Causeway Paints Lanka (Pvt) Ltd to Asian Paints Ltd (India) and the sale of MillenniumIT ESP by London Stock Exchange Group. (COLOMBO, 17 October 2018)
