Sri Lanka’s CEB to buy from small solar power at Rs14.24 a unit
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s state-run Ceylon Electricity Board is to purchase power from a small solar power plant at 14.24 rupees a unit, under own operate (BOO) basis.
The cabinet of ministers had approved the purchase of power from a plant build by Gold Corporation Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, under Sri Lanka’s ‘Soorya Bala Sangramaya II” or the operation to expand solar power.
The plant will be connected to the Moneragala grid sub-station, the state information office said.
The contract awarded by a cabinet appointed negotiations committee.
The proposal had been approved by the cabinet of ministers. (Colombo/Nov11/2019)
