Sri Lanka’s Dialog in relief fund for bombing victims; promises to match Rs100mn in donations
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s Dialog Axiata said it has set up a relief fund for kids and families affected by Easter Sunday bombings and donations will be matched by the firm up to 100 million rupees.
Donations of 100 rupees each from customers can be made via SMS by typing DON and SMS to 7700, Dialog said.
Dialog will match every donation with an equal amount up to 100 million rupees.
Multiple donations can be made by re-sending. Star points can be redeemed by dialing #141*5*7#. Donations can also be made by eZ cahs or Genie apps, or through https://www.dialog.lk/donate/.
"We hope that this initiative via Dialog Foundation together with World Vision Lanka and Sarvodaya will assist and bring some relief to those devastated by these attacks," SupunWeerasinghe, Group Chief Executive of Dialog Axiata was quoted as saying.
The funds will go to help education support for over 500 kids affected by the blasts and psychosocial rehabilitation for over 250 families, Dialog said.
