Sri Lanka’s inflation in Colombo falls to 4.3-pct in September
ECONOMYNEXT – Consumer inflation in the Sri Lankan capital Colombo fell to a four-month low of 4.3 percent in September 2018 from a year ago, according to data from the Department of Census and Statistics.
The Colombo Consumer Price Index (CCPI) had risen 5.9 percent in August.
The CCPI index in September 2018 fell 0.7 percent to 124.9 compared with the month before, when the index was 125.8, the department said in a statement.
The year-on-year inflation of the Food Group fell to 2.3 percent in September 2018 from 7.5 percent in August and that of the Nonâ€food Group rose to 5.3 percent in September from to 5.1 percent in August during this period.
