Sri Lanka’s National Audit Bill passed

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s long – delayed National Audit Bill was approved unanimouosly by paliament  Thursday.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe presented bill which had been amended several times, causing concerns among some governance activists.

The law is aimd to give more powers for the Auditor General and also make officials accountable for decisions. (Colombo/July05/2018)
