Sri Lanka’s rupee quoted around 197.50/198.50 in one-month forwards, gilt yields steady
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s rupee was quoted around 197.50/198.50 to the US dollar in one-month forwards market on Thursday while bond yields steady, dealers said.
Rupee last closed around 196.00/198.00 in the spot-next market on Wednesday against the greenback.
The central bank’s indicative spot rate was 194.7980 on January 19, up from 193.6458 on yesterday.
In bond markets, gilt yields steady in active market trade, dealers said.
Dealers said the yields were down in active market after a 40 billion auction held yesterday.
A 2-year bond maturing on 15.12.2022 was quoted at 5.35/40 per cent on Thursday, unchanged from 5.35/40 per cent at Wednesday’s end.
A bond maturing on 15.01.2023 was quoted at 5.35/45 per cent, unchanged from 5.35/45 per cent at the last closing.
A bond maturing on 15.09.2024 was quoted at 6.18/22 per cent, steady from 6.15/25 per cent.
A bond maturing on 01.05.2025 was quoted at 6.42/52 per cent, up from 6.38/48 per cent at Wednesday’s end.
A bond maturing on 01.02.2026 was quoted at 6.58/68 per cent, flat from 6.58/68 per cent at the last closing.
A bond maturing on 15.08.2027 was quoted at 7.05/15 per cent, unchanged from the last closing.
A bond maturing on 01.07.2028 quoted flat at 7.20/40 per cent.
A 10-year bond maturing on 15.05.2030 was quoted steady at 7.60/80 per cent, steady from 7.60/70 per
