ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s stocks closed 0.04 percent higher on Monday, provisional data showed.
Colombo’s All Share Price Index (ASPI) gained in the morning session, reaching the intra-day’s highest 5,845.79 before noon to stumble down.
ASPI gained 2.60 points to 5,828.14 and the S&P SL20 Index of more liquid stocks fell 0.48 percent or 13.48 points to 2,801.57.
The market turnover was 747 million rupees with 49 stocks gaining and 67 falling.
Melstacorp gained 2.80 rupees to 47.00 rupees a share, Bukit Darah was up 27.20 rupees at 238.70 rupees a share and Nestle Lanka gained 29.30 rupees to 1,330 rupees a share contributing to ASPI’s gain.
