Sri Lanka’s stocks close 0.11-pct lower

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s stocks closed 0.11 percent lower on Friday.

Colombo’s All Share Price Index (ASPI) closed 6.55 points lower to 5,898.47 and the S&P SL20 of more liquid stocks gained 0.16 percent or 4.51 points to 2,902.80.

The market turnover was 281 million rupees with 56 stocks gaining and 64 stocks falling.

Ceylon Cold Stores fell 45.50 rupees to 754.40 rupees a share, Trans Asia Hotels was down 3.90 rupees at 65.00 rupees a share and Ceylon Tobacco Company fell 3.80 rupees to 1,246.20 rupees a share, contributing to the ASPI’s decline.
