Sri Lanka’s UNP says reached deal with opposition

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s United National Party said it had reached an agreement with the opposition on setting up a national unity government.
"Both sides had to make sacrifices," UNP Chairman Malik Samarawickreme said in a statement.
"Those sacrifices were made for the benefit of the country."
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe had said that he hoped to have a national unity government with the Sri Lanka Freedom Party of President Maithripala Sirisena for at least two years.
There was no word when the cabinet will be appointed. (Colombo/Aug26/2015)
