SriLankan Airlines to be merged with Mihin budget carrier

EconomyNext – Sri Lanka’s new government will merge the national carrier SriLankan Airlines and the Mihin Lanka budget airline, Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake said.

"This will improve their efficiency and gradually reduce losses," he told parliament while presenting the government’s interim budget. 

SriLankan Airlines has lost over 100 billion rupees in the past five years and Mihin 15 billion rupees.
