Thirty five suspects arrested to date
Thirty five suspects have been arrested in connection to the Easter Sunday attacks in Sri Lanka, a spokesperson of the Police Media Division told RepublicNext.
The Police Terrorist Investigation Division and the Colombo Crimes Division are currently involved in the investigations pertaining to the incident.
The spokesperson further said that several individuals were arrested in areas including Colombo, Dematagoda and Panadura in connection to the explosions took place in several locations of the island.
The Police Media Spokesperson Ruwan Gunesekara noted that strict actions will be taken against those who mislead the public and police with false information as such actions are efforts to distract the security units.
A suspicious parcel which was found in Bambalapitiya yesterday (22) was inspected by the Special Task Force (STF) and the Army Bomb Disposal Unit.
It was later revealed to be a concrete block wrapped in a cover.
