Travel ban imposed on Swiss Embassy employee
The Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court imposed a temporary travel ban today on the Swiss Embassy employee in the centre of the alleged abduction saga until she makes a statement to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne ordered the female Embassy staffer to make a statement before the CID before Monday (9 December).
The order was made after the CID appeared in Court to relate the facts pertaining to the case and subsequently sought a travel ban on the employee concerned in order to record a statement.
The Swiss Embassy had hitherto maintained that she was unable to testify due to a deteriorating health condition following the alleged abduction.
