Two Sri Lanka Muslim state ministers who resigned re-appointed
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena Friday swore in as state ministers two Muslim parliamentarians who had earlier resigned from their positions after pressure from Buddhist extremists.
The Presidential Secretariat said in a statement Mohamed Cassim Mohamed Faizal and Seyed Ali Zahir Moulana of the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress, who resigned from their State Ministerial portfolios two months ago, were sworn in to their previous posts again.
Faizal has been sworn in as the State Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine, while Moulana was sworn in as the State Minister of Primary Industries and Social Empowerment.
