We will reinstate all who were politically victimised – Sajith
Leader of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Sajith Premadasa says that when he wins the parliamentary elections he will re-appoint all state sector employees who lost jobs due to political victimisation.
Addressing reporters in Colombo on Friday, Premadasa alleged that a number of state sector employees have lost their jobs after the present government was elected due to ‘political revenge’ and ‘political hunting’.
“At present, thousands of State Sector workers have lost their jobs. In the National Housing Development Authority, some 2500 people have been removed.”
“Nearly 7000 Project Assistants have been treated unfairly as well. According to the information we received, 180 employees have lost their jobs at the at Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CEYPETCO),”
“They have been told that they will be re-appointed following the general elections if they work for the government during the elections,” Premadasa said.
He assured that he will reappoint all those who lost the jobs due to political revenge once he wins the elections.
“They will be provided with compensation and will be given their jobs backs once we come into power,” Premadasa added.
