ECONOMYNEXT – The 33 Sri Lankan students who were rescued from the coronavirus stricken Chinese city of Wuhan in China are now safely in the Diyathalawa Army Camp, Army Commander Lt General Shavendra Silva says.
In a statement released a short while ago, the Army Chief said that Military doctors who examined the students at the camp had reported that none of them exhibited signs of fever or any other symptoms.
They are now in a hospital designed for patients with infectious diseases in the camp and according to instructions from the Health Ministry will be quarantined there for two weeks.
They were transported to Diyathalawa in an Air Force bus accompanied by military medical personnel.
Silva said that the students have individual rooms and all their needs are being met by the Army.
There are facilities for parents to supply items to the students, but as the Army is providing for their needs, there is no requirement for the parents to bring anything he added. (Colombo, February 01, 2020)
