Activist asks HRC to inquire into Police lapses in Easter attacks
A Human Rights activist is asking the Human Rights Council of Sri Lanka to inquire as to why the Police has not conducted an inquiry into its lapses over the Easter Sunday attacks.
Jeevan Thiagaraja who submits as a citizen asks why the Acting IGP and the Police Commission have not done such an inquiry.
He also points to the fact that many days after the Easter Bombings Muslim-owned shops and homes were attacked by mobs.
In these cases too, he asks, have there been lapses in policing that allowed these incidents occurred?
Thiagaraja heads the Consortium of Humanitarian Agencies and is also the Chairman of the Institute of Human Rights.
