Ambassador Sirisena presents credentials to Austrian President
Saroja Sirisena presented Letters of Credence to President of Austria Alexander Van der Bellen last Wednesday (10 July), accrediting her as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sri Lanka to Austria.
During the meeting, Ambassador Sirisena conveyed greetings of President Maithripala Sirisena to the Austrian President recalling the former’s visit to Austria in 2016 and President Van der Bellen has reciprocated his greetings to Sirisena recalling his visit to Sri Lanka as a tourist.
Austrian President has also commended Sri Lanka’s position as a global destination for tourists including amongst Austrians.
The two had further discussed enhancing Austro-Lanka bilateral relations and the importance of global efforts for enhancing security and the strengthening of legal frameworks to combat terrorism.
