Amith Weerasinghe Leader of ‘Mahason Balakaya’ who was in remand is free after he was granted bail today (4) by the Colombo Additional Magistrate Kalani Perera.
Weerasinghe was freed on two sureties Rs 1 million each.
The Additional Magistrate warned Weerasinghe not to make statements on social media that are likely to cause unrest among the public and not to conduct such meetings.
Weerasinghe was arrested on 14 May in Theldeniya by the Colombo South Anti-Vice Division for propagating hate speech, racial and religious hatred among communities in the country through social media.
Weerasinghe will be back in court on July 2.
