Austrian firms looking to invest in Sri Lanka
ECONOMYNEXT – Austrian companies are keen to invest in Sri Lanka especially in sectors like infrastructure, renewable energy and health care, a visiting business chamber official said.
“Today, Sri Lanka is a rapidly emerging economy, and Austrian companies are keen to tap these opportunities,” said Richard Schenz, Vice President of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber.
“There is great interest in infrastructure, renewable energy, environment and health care,” he told a business forum in Colombo with the participation of a high level delegation from Austria, organized by the European Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka.
Schenz said there has been a steady increase in trade between the two countries, with the trade balance in favour of Sri Lanka.
