Ballast Needam wins Sri Lanka water project
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka has given Ballast Needam International Projects B.V. an 81 million euro contract for the Hemmathagama Water Supply Project, the government has announced.
The project, under the Ministry of Town Planning and Water Resources, covers water supply to people in the Mawanella, Aranayake, and Rambukkana divisional secretariat areas.
The Cabinet of ministers approved the design and build contract for civil and mechanical and engineering works.
ING Bank N.V. of the Netherlands is to provide a loan of 81.95 million euro for the project, Rajitha Senaratne, Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine told a news conference. (Colombo/September 17 2015)
