ECONOMYNEXT – The highest number of 56 Coronavirus cases in the 24 hours ending 0600 on March 19, or over half the cases in Sri Lanka’s capital district of Colombo, had been reported from the suburb of Battaramulla, data from the anti-Coronavirus task force showed.
Health authorities had confirmed 106 cases in the Colombo district.
In Sapugaskande 46 cases were detected, which was the highest in Gamapaha district which had a total of 66.
Kurunegala had 29 cases.
A total of 313 cases were reported on March 18.
Sri Lanka has reported 89,175 confirmed Coronavirus cases and 2,693 are under treatment.
The island has vaccinated 815,585 persons with a single dose.
Over the past 24 hours 9,136 had been vaccinated. (Colombo/Mar19/2021)
