Candlelight vigil calling for unity

A candlelight vigil was held at Independence Square, Colombo, yesterday, calling for unity among all Sri Lankans in the wake of the Easter bombings.

Organised by a collective known as the Sri Lanka Muslim Civil Society, the vigil saw the participation of clergy of all faiths, and according to one participant who spoke to RepublicNext, was held amid tight security. Sarvodya Founder A. T. Ariyaratne and human rights activist Radhika Coomaraswamy spoke at the event.
